Two legs around a corner: short distances between cooking, cleaning, and preparation, with space for storage in the corner. The most popular shape because it fits into almost any floor plan and leaves room for a dining table.
Three sides of work surface and storage space, everything within reach. For people who cook often and enjoy doing so, even as a couple. Requires about 1.2 m of clear space in the center so that doors and drawers can be opened comfortably.
The kitchen island in the middle of the room, accessible from all sides. Cooking while facing family and guests, with space for a counter and stools. There should be about one meter of free space all around the island.
