Die Auswahl erschlägt am Anfang fast jeden. Hunderte Fronten, dazu Farben, Oberflächen und Griffmulden, und alles wirkt im Prospekt anders als im Raum. Genau da setzt die Beratung an.

In der Ausstellung fassen Sie die Fronten an, sehen die Oberflächen im Tageslicht und probieren aus, wie sich eine Griffmulde öffnen lässt. Und Ihr Küchenplaner fragt nach Ihrem Alltag: Wer kocht, wie oft und zu wievielt? Gibt es Kinder oder Tiere im Haushalt? Wird in der Küche auch gegessen oder gearbeitet? Aus diesen Antworten werden aus hundert Möglichkeiten ein paar wenige, die zu Ihnen passen. Entscheiden müssen Sie dann nur noch zwischen guten Varianten.

Proper kitchen care begins even while cooking and baking. Ensure good ventilation so that steam and grease do not settle on the cabinets. Let the extractor hood run for a few minutes after cooking for this purpose. Also, do not place warm kitchen appliances such as the coffee machine or toaster under the wall cabinets, as the heat can damage the wood.

Clean the oven and hob after each use to prevent grease splashes and the like from burning in unnecessarily. Also, regularly clean the refrigerator and freezer to avoid mold or other stubborn dirt.

For a consultation at a kitchen showroom, like ours in Cottbus, it's advisable to bring some measurements to the first meeting. These don't need to account for every corner or be millimetre-precise, but they serve as a basis for initial ideas and a draft of your new kitchen. It often also helps to have pictures of the room with you.

For the final planning and production of the new kitchen, our consultants usually take measurements themselves on-site with laser measuring devices and also check the water and electrical connections.

As a rough guide: There should be approx. 1.20 to 1.50 meters of space between the kitchen island and the surrounding cabinets. This can be achieved with a room size of about 15 square meters. This ensures that you can open drawers or cabinet doors wide enough and, ideally, two people can pass through the aisle simultaneously. However, the intended use of the island is also crucial for the required size. If the oven or sink is to be integrated into the kitchen island, this plays a decisive role in the planning.

An fitted kitchen, such as you can find in our furniture stores, can be precisely adapted to the existing dimensions of your rooms. A discount kitchen, unfortunately, does not offer the same adaptability. In addition, with a fitted kitchen, you can determine the design yourself from scratch and influence the quality of the materials. Furthermore, a fitted kitchen, in contrast to one from a discounter, takes into account the necessary height of worktops and cabinets as well as the required storage space for your individual needs. With a discount kitchen, customers often have to settle for quality defects and compromises – according to the motto: bought as seen.

To make the most of your kitchen, we at Möbel-Peeck recommend planning specific kitchen zones. This makes tasks easier, as items you need for cooking and baking are grouped together logically.
Possible kitchen zones include:

Storage:
Kitchen utensils such as knives and forks, as well as plates and bowls, should ideally be stored near the dishwasher – this makes unloading easier.

Pantry:
Those who enjoy cooking and baking often buy more than they need for the day, stocking up instead. For this reason, these items should be stored in an easily accessible place, for example, in a pull-out pantry cabinet or in swivel or rotating organizational systems.

Preparation:
What many often intuitively do correctly is storing sharp knives and cutting boards near the designated work surface.

Cooking & Baking:
To avoid unnecessary movements when cooking and baking, your pots, pans, casserole dishes, and other utensils like pot holders should always be near the stove or oven.

Washing & Disposal:
So that food scraps can be disposed of directly after washing dishes or vegetable leaves after rinsing, the waste bin and other cleaning accessories are ideally located directly under the sink.

Downdraft extractors, like hob extractors, have the same function but a different approach. Both variants ensure that so-called cooking fumes, the vapours produced during cooking and baking, are extracted from the air. While a downdraft extractor is a vent mounted on the wall or ceiling above the hob, which ducts the cooking fumes outside via pipes, hob extractors are located directly next to the hob and direct the air first downwards and then through wall pipes to the outside.

According to the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Die Moderne Küche e. V. (AMK - Association for the Modern Kitchen), the average price of a new fitted kitchen in Germany was 12,177 Euros in 2025; by early 2026, it rose to around 12,400 Euros, according to the AMK. The range around this average is wide: industry guides (as of 2026) classify simple kitchens at approximately 3,000 to 8,000 Euros, mid-range kitchens at 8,000 to 15,000 Euros, and premium kitchens at 15,000 to over 30,000 Euros.

What about at Möbel Peeck?
At our store, a simple fitted kitchen usually starts at 5,000 Euros. Even in this entry-level category, durability is consistently good as standard: high-quality hinges and pull-outs, as well as professional installation from a single source, are always included.

What determines the price?
The price increases mainly with the scope, functions, and quality of the electrical appliances, with higher-quality materials – for example, for fronts and worktops – with more individualized planning solutions, and with the size of your kitchen. Therefore, the best way to determine the cost of your kitchen is through a personal planning session in our showrooms: with on-site measurements, appliance consultation, and a binding offer that shows you in black and white how your budget will be used.

It's not the length of the kitchen unit that's the biggest factor, but the equipment. Industry guides (as of 2026) refer to a rule of thumb from Stiftung Warentest for budget allocation: around 70 percent for furniture and equipment, about 25 percent for electrical appliances, and around 5 percent for delivery, assembly, and disposal. Electrical appliances are therefore the most underestimated cost item – an induction hob with an integrated downdraft extractor or an oven with pyrolysis operates in a different price range than the standard variant. For furniture, the most important factors are the front material (foiled fronts, lacquer, real wood), the worktop, and comfort features such as full pull-outs, damping, or organization systems. In our planning process, we will go through these adjustable factors together – ensuring your budget goes towards the aspects that are truly important to you in your daily life.

Which appliances are worthwhile depends on your cooking habits: those who cook daily benefit more from durable, energy-efficient appliances than from additional cabinets – according to AMK (2026), kitchen buyers are increasingly asking for appliances with better energy efficiency classes, larger dishwashers, and hobs with integrated extractors. A kitchen is a purchase for 15 to 20 years and must fit your space down to the last centimeter – unlike off-the-shelf furniture, there's rarely a second chance if dimensions, connections, or workflows aren't right. During a personal consultation in our showrooms, your kitchen will be planned down to the last detail: from on-site laser measurement and checking water and electrical connections to the sensible arrangement of kitchen zones. You can see fronts, worktops, and appliances in their original form in the exhibition and will receive a binding offer at the end – instead of an estimate from an online configurator. The consultation itself costs you nothing but time; it's best to bring rough room dimensions and a few photos.

Ab Bestellung sind es bei Küchen in der Regel etwa sechs bis acht Wochen. Davor liegen der Planungstermin im Studio, meist rund zwei Stunden, und das Aufmaß bei Ihnen zu Hause. Die Montage selbst ist in der Regel an einem Tag erledigt.
