Vara wall panel

The Vara series from Hartmann Möbelwerke draws inspiration from the architecture of rural barns, translating it into a calm, understated furniture aesthetic. Crafted exclusively from Umato core oak, the wood undergoes a multi-day smoking process before processing, which gives it its characteristic, uniform dark color and the look of aged oak beams. Knots, core cracks, and the fine structures of the end grain remain visible, telling the story of the timber’s natural growth.

The wall panel is part of this extensive, modular program, in which highboards, sideboards, coffee tables, display cabinets, side tables, and wall lights can be combined into individual living solutions. The surface is brushed to a sawn-rough finish and refined with two matte UV water-based lacquers and a final wax coating, allowing the wood to slowly lighten over the years. The version shown here presents the panel in Umato core oak, brushed sawn-rough, as a rectangular, compact element for wall design.
