The X1 shelf is part of Venjakob's Plan-X series, which the manufacturer itself describes as the colorful program of its living room range. The series is designed as a modular system: body heights, widths, and depths can be combined, individual compartments accented with colored inserts, and glass shelves, drawers, or closed door elements added as needed. The surfaces are available in matte lacquers in a wide range of colors, including crystal white, slate gray, light gray, jade green, desert yellow, crystal pink, and rose red. Integrated LED lighting is available for most body variations and can be directed specifically to display compartments or open shelf zones.
Characteristic of Plan X is the deliberate alternation between closed, calm lacquered surfaces and open shelf compartments, in which books, pictures, and home accessories can be staged. Despite its height, the shelf appears light and understated due to the thin body thicknesses and clean edge detailing. The version shown here is type X140.3700 in matte crystal white lacquer and is delivered with integrated lighting.
