Designing an office that accommodates four radio stations while making artists feel welcome from the first moment is a true design challenge. For Audiotainment Südwest, home to Radio Regenbogen, bigFM, Rock FM, and RPR1, we implemented exactly that: colorful Conform armchairs for relaxed conversations and a brühl sofa group directly in front of the studios as an inviting reception area. In this article, we take you behind the scenes of this special project.

An Office that Matches the Brand of Four Radio Stations
Radio Regenbogen, bigFM, Rock FM, and RPR1 share a building, but each brings its own energy. The reception area was designed to reflect this: lively, open, and arranged so that artists and guests immediately feel at home. Not a sterile waiting room, not a formal entrance area, but a space that invites people to settle in even before the microphone is turned on.
Colorful Conform Armchairs
The Turtle by Conform was chosen for good reason. The model offers exactly the qualities a reception area in a radio station needs: It creates an atmosphere where conversations flow easily. The colorful upholstery adds splashes of color that keep the space vibrant and match the energy of the four stations. Artists sitting in such an armchair before a studio day can arrive and relax even while waiting.

What is a recliner?
A recliner like the Turtle by Conform is designed for maximum seating comfort. Typical features: a swivel base for free movement in the room, infinitely adjustable backrest for individual sitting positions, ergonomic padding for longer, relaxed sitting. Such armchairs are particularly suitable for reception areas where guests might spend a little more time.
The Sofa Group in Front of the Studios
The area directly in front of the studios is the first stop for guests and artists before they go on air. This is exactly where we placed the sofa group: the brühl models mosspink and all together forming an inviting unit. The positioning is no coincidence. Short distances to the studio mean less commotion and more time to settle in.

What makes a good reception area for artists:
- short distances between the waiting area and the studio
- comfortable seating that invites lingering
- an informal atmosphere without a formal character
Venjakob Side Tables
An armchair or a sofa alone does not yet create a well-designed reception area. Only when drinks, documents, or a smartphone have a place does a seating group truly feel complete. The Venjakob side tables fulfill exactly this role: They functionally complement armchairs and sofas without overwhelming the overall impression. Such details often decide whether a room feels cohesive or if something is missing without being immediately identifiable.

The following overview shows which piece of furniture serves which function in the Audiotainment Südwest reception area.
| Furniture Item | Brand / Model | Function in the Room |
|---|---|---|
| Armchair | Conform / Turtle | relaxed individual seating with a conversational atmosphere |
| Sofa Group | brühl / mosspink & all together | communal reception area in front of the studios |
| Side Table | Venjakob | storage surface as a functional complement to the seating group |
This Project Shows What's Possible for Your Office Furnishings Too
A successful reception area isn't created by individual decisions, but by a cohesive overall concept. What you can take away from this project:
- Positioning: Place seating where guests actually arrive, i.e., close to the areas they will visit next.
- Choose colors consciously: Vibrant upholstery, like with the Turtle, adds accents and creates atmosphere.
- Consider function: Side tables are not secondary, but part of a well-thought-out room design.
- Combine models: Armchairs and sofa groups complement each other when designed as a unit.
