An office kitchen has long been more than just a place to quickly warm up lunch. It is becoming a central meeting point where colleagues come together, ideas are born, and the day winds down together after work.
This is exactly the concept we implemented in a project for the company HD Vision. The result? A kitchen that is now the heart of the office – functional, beautiful to look at, and a space where people simply enjoy spending time. With furniture from Prisma, we have created something here that truly works in everyday life.

The essentials at a glance
- The open kitchen island is the focal point. This is where the team meets naturally.
- The color scheme combines matte grey fronts with warm solid wood, handleless for a clean look.
- Large windows let in plenty of daylight. LED lighting provides the right ambiance in the evening.
- All appliances are fully integrated and hidden behind the fronts.
- Clever drawer systems and tall cabinets keep everything organized.
Grey meets wood: The choice of materials
During the planning phase, one question was at the center: How do we create an atmosphere that looks professional yet is inviting at the same time? The solution was matte grey fronts. They give the room a sense of calm without appearing cold. The wood elements add warmth and are durable enough for daily use. This combination has a nice side effect: it remains current for years to come.
The handleless fronts were a deliberate choice. Without handles, less dirt accumulates and cleaning is faster. The continuous surfaces make the room appear larger. And what looks modern today will still work years from now – a timeless design that doesn't feel dated after two years.
The worktop in a light natural stone look completes the design. It looks good, is easy to keep clean, and can withstand the rigors of office life.
The island as a meeting point
The large island is more than just a workspace. It has become the real meeting point. This is where people cook, eat, and talk. The integrated seating invites you to just sit down and join in. You know how it is: you stop by briefly to grab a coffee and end up staying a while because an interesting conversation is taking place.
The bar stools are height-adjustable – it sounds unspectacular, but it makes a difference. Everyone likes to sit differently, and ergonomic design pays off during long conversations or spontaneous meetings.

Daylight and flexible lighting
The large panoramic windows were a real stroke of luck for this project. How much does natural light change a room? Immense. Everything here feels more open and welcoming. The view outside is a welcome change, especially during intense work phases.
For evening hours and darker days, we planned LED lighting that can be adjusted:
- Morning: brighter, activating light to start the day
- Afternoon: adapted mood for focused work
- Evening: dimmed, cozy light for relaxed conversations
The kitchen is a separate room, but not sealed off. You can retreat if you want to eat in peace. At the same time, spontaneous conversations happen when colleagues drop by. This balance was important to us – fostering interaction without making anyone feel disturbed.
From appliances to drawers
For the appliances, we relied on fully integrated solutions. The oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator disappear behind uniform fronts. This looks much tidier, and the modern appliances are energy-efficient, which is noticeable in the long-term operating costs.
The storage solutions make a real difference in everyday life:
- Soft-close pull-outs: close gently and quietly, even when you're in a hurry
- Variable drawer systems: can be freely organized on the inside depending on what is needed
- Spacious tall cabinets: plenty of room for supplies and dishes, everything close at hand
- Integrated waste separation system: recycling is easier and looks neat
You might not notice these details at first glance, but they pay off in daily use.

Why this kitchen proves itself
When selecting materials, we prioritized durability. The matte surfaces and natural wood will still look fresh years later – no yellowing, no signs of wear. This means less maintenance and an investment that pays off.
But what truly distinguishes this kitchen for HD Vision:
- Shared lunch breaks: The team enjoys spending time here instead of eating at their desks.
- Natural exchange: Spontaneous conversations and moments happen all on their own.
- Strong impression: Guests and business partners immediately see the quality and attention to detail.
- Timeless design: The kitchen will remain current and modern for years to come.
